Torch to stay lit in Olympic Village until closing The Olympic torch was lit on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010. There were some mechanical difficulties, but the Olympic committee continued without fail. The torch will stay lit for the next 16 days in the Olympic Village until the closing ceremonies.
