Spring Fling: not ready to go

Spring Fling has always been known among students as a day where it is strictly fun, and in certain aspects, considered to be a very big party day on campus. Although I have only been able to attend one Spring Fling at Cabrini, I am very upset that we will no longer be having that one designated day where I can just have fun with my friends, go see a great concert and be happy that I have completed another year of college.

Whenever students are starting out a new semester, they are handed out a syllabus from their teacher that mentions what the specific professor is expecting from them that term. There usually is some room saved on that syllabus for class participation and how much that will impact their grades.

As the time rolls around, once again the presidential elections are the headlines of the news. I find myself even more excited because it will be the first time that I am able to vote for the next president of the United States. This election, however, makes history by having an Italian, an African-American and a woman all running for the presidency.

Free HIV tests to hit campus

Cabrini College's health services and the office of health and wellness education will be sponsoring an anonymous and free HIV testing on Monday, Feb. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The HIV testing will be hosted by Family Services of Montgomery County. Twenty appointments are available for on-campus testing; however those who are interested will have to have advance registration and appointments will be about 15 minutes in length.

Men’s basketball lose at Al Van Wie Rotary

The Cabrini College Men's Basketball team is kicking off their season with a fresh outlook and high hopes for a winning season. Though some may be deceived by their record of 1-2-0, they traveled to Wooster, Ohio to play in the "Al Van Wie" Rotary Classic and have gone up against the number 2 team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association in Division III, College of Wooster.

Swimmer excels in pool and academics

John Kolesniki is a senior triple major in political science, accounting and philosophy. Kolesnik started swimming and competing at the age of six. He continues swimming throughout his life and was on the varsity team in high school for all four years. Kolesnik said, "For me, swimming has been a great way to stay in shape, make good friends and develop self-motivation.

Women’s tennis seizes third straight PAC championship

Cabrini's women's tennis team has wrapped up a successful season as Pennsylvania Athletic Conference champions for the third year running. The Lady Cavaliers overall record is 12-4-0 and is undefeated in the PAC with a record of 11-0-0. Cabrini holds the second-longest streak in the conference history.
