Racial tension sparks debate among students

"I can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I can take away your lives with a stroke of my pen," Jena district attorney Reed Walters said, according to freethejena6.org. In September 2006, a chain of events happened at Jena, La. leaving a small town of 3,000 in racial tension.

NBC 10 films campus commercials

Last week, Cabrini was filmed for commercials airing on NBC 10. The commercial's message is to promote the college campus as well as celebrate its 50th anniversary. NBC 10 was chosen to film the commercials "because of the partnership between the college and NBC 10 that was established for the 50 th anniversary celebration," Dan DiPrinzio, Cabrini media relations manager said.

Abortion: pro choice vs. pro life

As Americans, we are constantly fighting for the power of choice. When a choice is finally granted, no person has any right to take that choice away. Having an abortion is simply a choice, nothing more. Making abortion legally available lets a woman decide if this is the right choice for her, without having any repercussions.

Hallucinogenic drug gains popularity

Salvia divinorum, also reffered to as the "legal LSD," is on a rise among colleges and teens. When Salvia is smoked or chewed, the effects of the drug are often compared with those of LSD. Salvia evokes a dreamlike hallucination that usually peaks five minutes after smoked or ingested.

President Antoinette Iadarola announces retirement

"I feel peaceful. I believe it is the right decision for the college right now," President Antoinette Iadarola bitter sweetly said after formally announcing her retirement from Cabrini College. Three hours prior to her retirement announcement, Iadarola sent out a campus wide e-mail stating that there would be an all-college meeting at 1:00p.

Be a Dear and get Bitten at Steve and Barry’s

"It is every woman's inalienable right to have a pulled together, stylish, confident wardrobe with money leftover to live," so get Bitten, be a Dear and head over to Steve and Barry's. This summer, Steve and Barry's introduced new fashion lines by Amanda Bynes and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Cabrini enforces new recycling system

As the call to "go green" becomes stronger, Cabrini created a recycling system on campus. The new system was released on July 9 when the new housekeeping, CSI placed the recycling bins in set locations, including the offices and dorms. Each recycling bin is set to recycle a different product.

Left feeling stressed, unaccomplished as the semester reaches its conclusion

As the end of the semester finishes up fast, this can only mean one thing. It is the time of the year where I completely stress out! It almost seems that each class has a final project, final paper, final exam and final presentation. Multiply all of these assignments by seven classes and you get an exhausted, stressed out, fatigued student.

Heroin becomes addiction for younger generations

"I cannot go a moment without thinking about heroin. Heroin has become my life." As 22-year-old Lisa sits scrunched on her bed at the drug rehabilitation center, she starts to break out in a cold sweat and goose bumps just at the mention of the word heroin, and the sight of the water bottle cap.

Citizens Bank Park is where it’s at

Now that spring has officially begun, that can only mean one thing. Baseball season has officially started. With Citizens Bank Park right in Philadelphia, it is the perfect place to get away from school and have some outdoor Phillies fun. "I'm not a huge fan of the game, but being with my friends makes it a good time," freshman early childhood and elementary education major Kristen Willis said.
