Lady Cavs win the PAC

The women's soccer team forged ahead eliminating its competition, Gwynedd-Mercy College, capturing the title of women's soccer champions for the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Lady Cavs played for 110 minutes constantly going back and forth with Gwynedd's top players.

Staff panel addresses drivers’ concerns

The junior class held a meeting with students and administration to discuss the issue of parking around campus on Monday, Nov. 3. The meeting was held in the Widener Center Lecture Hall. Director of Public Safety Charlie Schaffner, Vice President for Student Development Christine Lysionek and Director of Facilities Howard Holden were all in attendance.

With a few strokes of his paintbrush, senior Dan Varra is creating oil paintings that have brought him much recognition. Dan Varra, a fine arts major, has been getting a lot of attention due to his talent of painting colorful pieces of art that catch a passersby eye.

Student debt mounts as tuition costs rise

Soaring up like a fighter pilot's jet, tuition costs continue to sky rocket yearly. Each year when students return to Cabrini, their fee for attending the college is never the same. The costs go up a few thousand dollars a year. Students and their parents continue to ask themselves, where all the money is going.

Spirits soar at kite festival

Spirits were high as parents taught their children how to fly a kite. The sky was ligh blue and mixed with a few clouds and the leaves rustled as the wind blew in. Shouts of glee could be heard from all drections when the children were flying all by themselves.

Music blared and the smell of cotton candy filled the air as students raced around the Grace Hall Atrium, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, trying to collect five stickers which, would give them opportunity to stuff their own animal. The involvement fair was held to get new students as well as returning students the opportunity to join the college's 25 recognized organizations.

Thursday nights seem to be the busy social night on Cabrini's campus. Why Thursday nights, you might ask?? Well, that's an easy answer, because it's thirsty Thursday! There are bumping and loud parties going on in a majority of the apartments as well as parties happening all over campus.

BRIO makes student info accessable

A Cabrini student sits quietly in her desk, staring at their teacher, perhaps thinking "I hope this professor doesn't know that I failed two of my classes last semester." Well, chances are if they wanted to know, they could definitely find out. Full time teachers at Cabrini have access to their students' academic records through a new computer program on campus, BRIO.

Film Review: “Titanic Ghosts of the Abyss: An Immersive 3D Adventure”

In James Cameron's most recent film, he takes an adventure back to the Titanic. "Ghosts of the Abyss: An Immersive 3D Adventure" has a G rating and is now playing at the IMAX theater in King of Prussia. The movie runs a little over an hour and requires the audience to wear special 3D glasses.

McGowan death hits home

Like more than 1600 American families around the country, the McGowan family received notice that Stephen McGowan, 26, brother to senior Michaela McGowan, was killed Friday, March 4, while serving in Iraq. McGowan was serving in the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division of the U.

Clinton appointed to new UN position

Former President Bill Clinton wasnamed head of the tsunami recovery and relief movement for the United Nations. U.N . Secretary-General Kofi Annan chose Clinton for the position. In the past few weeks, Clinton and former president George H.W. bush have been making commercials and traveled all over the United in order to help raise money for the relief effort.

Response day raises money, creates tsunami

As pictures of the devastation from the tsunami poured in, aid money poured out. The images that were shown world-wide tugged at the heartstrings of everyone from celebrities to college students. Millions of dollars have been donated from everyone corner of the globe.

SET building vandalized

Vandalism amounting to $12,000 has been done to the new Science Education and Technology building. The damage was discovered on Nov. 3. The building, is still under construction and will not be fully ready to open for students until the fall 2005. President Iadarola informed the campus of the vandalism in an email sent to the campus: "I cannot believe this would happen to our campus.

Powell and Stern go head to head on radio

Radio jock Howard Stern called into KGO-AM radio in San Francisco while in a live interview with FCC Chairman Michael Powell. In the interview he accused Michael Powell of getting his job only because his father is Colin Powell, our current Secretary of State.

A national park where presidents have spoken was filled with the cries of demonstrators on Saturday, Sept. 25. The National Socialist Party, better known as the Nazi party, held a rally at Valley Forge National Park to voice their beliefs concerning immigration into the United States.
