Revenge: how marvelous it is

In movies it's the characters you love to hate who are the masters of the deceitful art. But, what about your conscious and the karma police? Isn't the sweetest revenge to simply live a happy life? I've been told this since the dawn of time and religiously followed it, well as much as someone could.

Editorial:Identifying noble causes: government aid programs

We're constantly being urged to care more about others and help those in need. Give this, give that. Give your time, support and give your signature on a fat check. Organizations like Relay for Life, Walk for the Cure, Alex's Lemonade Stand and countless others are always seeking support.

Author Kathleen Bogle on campus life

Kathleen A. Bogle is the author of "Hooking Up: Sex, Dating and Relationships on Campus," and assistant professor of Sociology and Criminal justice at LaSalle University in Philadelphia. What sparked your interest in the topic of hooking up? It was actually a conversation I was having with my mentor at University of Delaware talking about wanting to do a research study and I had researched violence against women and date rape and things like that, but I realized there was actually more information on the violence end of things than the general culture of how people get together.

The number of sexually transmitted diseases in the United States is significantly rising and the college age group is the target. That honors student who tutors over in the SET building might have chlamydia. Or that really sweet guy you were with last Thursday, he might have given you something without even knowing he had a sexually transmitted disease.

Dummies have feelings too

Broadway stagehands on strike

Broadway was buzzing, but not with excited fans, instead, with strikers urging pedestrians to take a flyer. Stagehands picketed and as of Saturday morning, 26 union shows were cancelled. Singers are just like you and me, at least Rebecca Loebe is. At 19 she worked at Whole Foods where she dealt with a male employee, Dan, whom she just could not get to like her no matter how nice she was or how hard she tried. Then again she did graduate high school at 16 and college at 20 and then dropped her first album at the ripe old age of 21, when most are in their junior year of college.

Comedian McKinney was “just on time”

Remember riding the bus to school in scalding hot weather only to have a tiny window to cool you off, while the bus driver has a personal fan? On Oct. 9 comedian Juston McKinney sucked in the audience at Jazzman's café as he whipped out humorous observations like riding the bus and getting the seat with the bad window.

Crystal ball will tell everything

Dying to know the future? See a psychic, they'll tell it all! Yes, maybe I am gullible but I'm a believer and that's because I've seen the light. A psychic has predicted my future and what a future it is! It was a particularly nice day when I strolled into Miss Young's office in New Hope.

Finish your greens, tea that is

Getting in the greens, like eating loads of yummy broccoli Mom piled on the dinner plate, is an obvious way to good health, but who knew going green didn't only apply to vegetables. Green tea, hot or cold, offers numerous health benefits. "I'd probably drink more of it if I knew more about the benefits," Alyssa Newman, a freshman communications major, said.
