Softball hopes to repeat

With a winning season behind them the softball team look forward to a repeat of last year's season by ending it with another championship win. They are the (current?) PAC Champions. The tournament will begin on Saturday, April 28 at Misercordia. The Lady Cavaliers will not have a game in the first round of the tournament because they have the second seed (seat?) in the PAC.

Superstitions to keep bad luck off field

You have your game face on and you are ready to go. You are ready to play the game of your life, and then it begins. Your game ritual, you put on your socks, right first then left, you put on your jersey and you know what you have to do. You have to win, and you have to win it for your team.

Tenure granted

Two of Cabrini College's faculty recently were granted tenure. Tenure is a promotion of sorts in that the professors each earned the title of Associate Professor. In order to get tenure the professors are evaluated and graded on their performance. There are three main parts: what they have done in their courses, why they are a valuable member of the community, and what kind of scholarly work they have done.

Keeping the Girl Scouts’ motto alive

Friendship can change and grow; it can fade and get brighter. Girl Scouts teachs the phrase, "Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold." As we walk through our path in life we meet people that change that course and others that seem to just get in the way.

Honors students win national writing contest

The members of Delta Epsilon Sigma entered a National Undergraduate Writing Contest, and two of the members placed in the competition. The contest is held every fall for campuses with a local chapter of the Delta Epsilon Sigma, a national honor society for students enrolled in Catholic colleges and universities.

When caf food just isn’t enough

"Do you have enough food, in case you get snowed in?" my mother asks. "No mom, I don't but maybe, if I'm lucky I can sneak it past Ting." "Who's Ting, sweetheart?" Have you ever had this kind of conversation with your mother when sitting in your dorm room the night before a big snowstorm? I know that I have many times.

The truth about Atkins

I have found that a lot of my friends are on the Atkins diet and I don't think that it's a good thing. I think that sometimes it's good for people to be concerned with their bodies and eat in a restricted manner, but as severe as this, I'm not sure. This diet calls for you to refrain from eating carbohydrates in such a drastic level that you might think they were poison.

Grapes from all around the world

The seventh annual wine tasting event at Cabrini College was held in the Mansion, Saturday, Nov. 9. The attendants were required to pay at least a $45 admission fee, but could also pay $60 and be named as a patron or $100 and be noted as a benefactor to the scholarship.

New reality T.V. for “Newly-weds”

From chicken of the sea to dropping the kids off at the park, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are entertainment for the world on their MTV show "The Newly Weds". People laugh at their reasonings and how they are the opposite of each other. To many, Simpson appears to have no common sense but a good work ethic and Lachey appears to have no work ethic and watch sports all the time, but a firm grasp on reality.

Lawsuit versus monthly bill

The free downloading and sharing of music online. What used to be thought of as free and legal, consumers are now coming to the realization that it was and still continues to be against the law. It was said in the Philadelphia Inquirer that Apple and Microsoft will launch music downloading programs that will charge the customer a monthly fee, 99 cents per song to download.
