Speedy Bowman

Roy Bowman was a member of the men's soccer team. Bowman has been playing soccer ever since he was four years old. Like many of his team members, Bowman enjoys the speed of the sport along with being part of a team. "Being on a team is one of my favorite parts of soccer," Bowman said.

Patrick Hutton more than just dirty sneakers

Patrick Hutton has sneakers that look like old pizza. They are worn from years of pacing over the mud, rocks and hills of the Pennsylvania countryside of the campus that he calls home. Hutton is a cross-country runner and his soles are proof of his deliberate mission to not only to run a good race, but also to win in the race of life.

Thanksgiving weekend games reviewed

Thursday, Nov. 22 Green Bay 29, Detroit 27 The Packers held a 16-point lead midway through the fourth quarter, and then had to hold on for a 29-27 victory over the Lions on Thanksgiving Day. Green Bay won in the Silverdome for the first time in five years and for just the second time in the regular season since 1992 to close within a half-game of Chicago in the NFC Central.

Eagles players cited multiple offenses

Four players from the Philadelphia Eagles have been in legal trouble over the past week. On Friday, Nov. 16, three Eagles players, safety Terrence Carroll, defensive back Darrel Crutchfield and lead rusher Correll Buckhalter were detained on charges of marijuana possession.

Keeping the holiday pounds off

It is often feared and loathed. It stands completely straight, sitting in dust until it is stepped on then clank. The scale is in use. It is time for the annual Weigh to Go contest, a contest that weighs participants before and after winter break, to promote healthy diet choices.

Campus roller hockey teams battle it out

The newly formed roller-hockey club at Cabrini has been growing in popularity ever since its creation by seniors Anthony Contipodero and Frank Plum, junior Anthony D' Aleo, and first-year student Rob Cain. Originally they planned to only have a single team in the Villanova Skating Center Adult League.

Cross Country season runs to the finish on top

The women's cross country team had a terrific season. Five of their top runners from last year were lost making this year a challenge. "This year was a rebuilding year," Tom O'Hara, head coach of the Cross Country team, said. The returning members who were the mainstays of the team were Kristin Zielinski and Andrea Dragone.

Men’s basketball defeats Widener

There was no rush to go watch the Bucs vs. Rams football game on television Monday night, when the men's basketball team went into double overtime against Widener University. People were sitting at the edge of their seats after the Cavaliers went into their first overtime against the Widener Pioneers.

Hockey team defeated by Villanova

The Cabrini roller-hockey season has started as of two weeks ago. Because of the popularity of the sport, a second team has been added to Cabrini's roller-hockey club. Cabrini's teams are named simply Cabrini I and Cabrini II. Cabrini II roller-hockey team in their inaugural season as a club has been a team full of dedication and commitment.

Students talk back about the Sixers

When the Philadelphia 76ers season started on the Oct. 30, 2001, something was missing from the team. Their first game, against the Minnesota Timberwolves ended in a 74-83 loss. The Sixers went on to lose their next four games to the Dallas Mavericks, the Houston Rockets, the Indiana Pacers and the Washington Wizards, with a returning Michael Jordan.
