Academic honesty policy offers consistency

The vote was unanimous. Cabrini will now be implementing a new academic honesty policy. The policy, passed on Tuesday, April 15, creates uniform standards that will be consistently enforced by all levels of the campus community. The new policy states that the principal objective is "to promote a dynamic, open and honest intellectual climate based on the personal and academic integrity of all members.

War affects college students’ employment opportunities

Although the predictions have been made that the war would end quickly with an American victory and send stock prices up and oil prices down, fighting has intensified, the market prices fell, oil prices increased and college students continue to struggle to find a job.

Kids will teach you to live life the right way

Everyone should work with kids at some point in their lifetime. Whether you are tutoring kids as part of volunteer work or if you are working at a daycare, kids at any age, teach you so much about life that it is an experience that everyone should have. I worked at the summer camp and school age childcare programs for my local YMCA for five years.

New study abroad program to start early

Since there is such a strong interest in the program, the starting date for the study abroad program at the University of Notre Dame in Australia has been moved up a year. Instead of starting in the spring semester of 2005, it will begin in the spring of 2004.

Cabrini to host second of two annual blood drives

The American Red Cross will be on campus for the second of two blood drives this year on Tuesday, April 8 in the Grace Hall Atrium. Cabrini has been holding semi-annual blood drives for at least 15 years, according to Susan Fitzgerald, health services coordinator.

Thousands rally in Valley Forge

The roads along Route 23 from Valley Forge Park to the G-Lodge Restaurant in Phoenixville were lined with cars and pedestrians trying to make their way to Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge for a Rally for America. The Pro-America Rally was organized to make sure that the troops know America is supporting them, the President and his administration.

Ad-ing up the open space

Now that the walls are free of ad clutter and the student body has been made aware of the rules for posting signs, a bigger issue is catching the attention of Student Activities. There is a limited number of places for students to hang posters and flyers around campus.

Conference provides campus entertainment opportunities

Six students on the Campus Activities and Programming Board attended a "conference that links the higher education and entertainment communities in a business and learning partnership, creating educational and business opportunities for our student and professional members," Jason Bozzone, director of student activities, said.

The possibilities are limitless; students can study anywhere in the world. Study abroad is the gateway to that possibility. Without spending additional funds for both tuition and room and board, Cabrini students have the opportunity to study almost anywhere in the world.

Tennis pros match up at ‘Nova

The 10th annual World Team Tennis Smash Hits took place Thursday, Oct. 3 in the Pavilion at Villanova University. Sponsored by Advanta, proceeds benefited the Elton John AIDS Foundation and local AIDS charities, such as ActionAIDS and MANNA. Sampras and Agassi, along with musical legend Elton John and tennis legend, Billie Jean King, were the stars of honor.

Women's Lacrosse The women's lacrosse team had their first game of the season on Saturday, March 16 against Misericordia. Cabrini won the game with a final of 24-1. Men's Tennis The men's tennis team ha d their first match of the season on Saturday, March 16.

Injustices are found everywhere, including inside the court room

We say that we have equality, which seems to be true, but only in theory. In reality, there are injustices everywhere you turn. It appears that everything is a barrier. Women do not get paid as much as men. Skin color might decide the job that a person gets, even if he or she is the less qualified person.

Kendra Ryer runs the court

Upon graduation in May, Kendra Ryer plans on attending graduate school at San Diego State University. Ryer, a sports science major, will be back in familiar territory in Calif. She is originally from Paradise. Ryer is a senior forward on the basketball team.

Mysterious rash spreading in schools

The cause of the mysterious rash that has been breaking out in various schools throughout the nation still remains unsolved. The rash, which is red in appearance and itchy, bumpy and even burning on the skin, has shown up in seven states, including: New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington and West Virginia.

Corcoran promises change for intramurals

With the sudden resignation of Chris Wrinkler from the position of athletic facility manager, the women's basketball coach was hired to fill the position. Kate Corcoran has assumed the role of running the intramurals program that Wrinkler had started. "The position fell into my lap," Corcoran explained.

Fall semester proves successful for SGA

The fall semester proved highly successful for the Student Government Association, as they set some high goals for themselves and worked diligently to see that those goals were accomplished. In addition, they have set goals for the spring semester, and hope that it will be just as, if not more, successful than last semester.
