Cabrini students get soaked at Phillies game

For the fourth year, Cabrini's partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies has shown great success. The night of Aug. 28, after everyone drove in traffic, the game started off with rain clouds moving away, or so everyone thought. Within minutes of the game starting, the clouds came right back over Citizen's Bank Park and caused a rain delay.

It's the beginning of the school year and everyone wants to meet new people on campus. Tuesday, Sept. 1, was the start of the Diversity Socials. It was designed for African-American, Latino, Asian, Native American and international students. Last day for textbook refunds to be Sept. 4

The last day students can get a full refund on textbooks will be Friday, Sept. 4. If a student needs to refund their book, they can go to the Cabrini bookstore, which is located right across from Jazzman's in the Widener Center. To get their full refund students must have their receipt and the condition of the book must be in the same condition upon its purchase.

This summer, Hollywood was not about the glamour or who was hooking up with who. Instead, Hollywood experienced a different trend by mourning the deaths of pop culture icons. The month of July seemed to have the largest loss of the icons that have left a mark on the hills of Hollywood and even around the world.

Cavaliers win 9 straight in CSAC

The men's lacrosse team is keeping up their motivation by continuing their undefeated season in the CSAC. Taking a 23-4 win against Marywood, the Cavaliers earned its ninth-straight win in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Casey Grugan, junior business administration major and Scott Reimer, senior business administration and human resource major, led the team to its big victory.

Golf takes 3rd at Farmingdale

The men's golf team played in the Farmingdale State University Invitational a two-day golf tournament at Bethpage State Park. The team placed third overall after two days of teeing up for 18 holes. The strong Cavaliers did not drop below the third place position the entire tournament.

Hidden crisis in West Virginia

Over my spring break this year I went back to West Virginia. This time it was a little different because instead of just seeing poverty first hand, I saw something else; crisis that is unheard of by many people called mountain-top removal. Mountain-top removal is when coal mining companies go on top of the serene Appalachian mountains and get coal.
