Tackling taxes one step at a time

The time has come when the government makes every employed American fill out tax forms. Although the government believes that they have come up with an easy-to-use system that just about every American can understand, it still seems to be so confusing. But among the 1099s, 1098s, 1040s and all the different W's, there seems to be a great deal of profit a person can make from these forms or a person can be the unlucky one who actually owes the government money.

Men’s lacrosse beings with a 6-5 win over Washington and Lee

The men's lacrosse team spent their spring break traveling, playing games and having long practices in warm weather. The men's break started in Lexington, Va. where they opened their season with a game against Washington and Lee University. The men came out on top with a 6-5 win.

Carabello breaks school and personal records

In the Cabrini Invitational, freshman elementary education major Andrea Carabello competed in the 50-meter freestyle and came only .06 seconds away from qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Carabello has had a record first season in swimming.

Sophomore Deas excited for Division III nationals

"I'm excited to go to nationals. It's all about going as many times as the Lord allows me to," junior social work major Lauren Deas said. Lauren Deas holds statistics in winter track that make her a top competitor. Deas is the only women's winter track runner who qualified for nationals that will take place in Terre Haute, Ind.

America: don’t back down to terrorism

Statistics show that Bush's overall approval rating has gone from 35 to 28 percent, showing that the public's interest in the war in Iraq is at an all time low. During the State of the Union address, the president covered many topics including domestic issues, global warming, healthcare and even schooling, yet the constant focus of the public is the president's denial of the issues surrounding today's war in Iraq.

Women’s basketball posts up into first place with solid 8-1 PAC record

Just about halfway through the basketball season, the women demonstrate their power and greatness by being first in the southern division of PAC. Currently the women's basketball team 0holds a record in PAC 8-1 with the loss to Gwynedd-Mercy on Jan. 18. Overall, the women's team record is 12-5 and now on a three-game winning streak.

Global warming: No one is safe from the silent killer

Each year it seems as though the winters become milder and the summers are unbearable. This thought is not just a figment of your imagination. The problem is known as global warming. Global warming is the quickest, most realistic way all living races will become extinct.

Worm study relates to humans

Dr. Sheryl Fuller-Espie, associate professor of biology and student research assistants, Mukti Patel and Rosa Smith, have been developing an experimental method to study the effects that prove earthworm's natural killer-like cells truly kill human target tumor cells.

Embryonic cells produce insulin

Recently, scientists at Novocell, a California biotechnology company, reported that they had developed a process turning embryonic cells into pancreatic cells that will in turn produce insulin. This discovery will control or even put a stop to diabetes. A diabetic's pancreas cannot produce an adequate amount of insulin.

Project Runway finale widely anticipated

Everyone is on "pins and needles" waiting for The Project Runway finale that's just a few days away! After weeks of vigorous challenges with fierce competition, the once 15 contestants has depleted to four. On Wednesday Oct. 18, the final four contestants will compete.
