If you were a gay student in high school, looking at colleges, would you want to attend somewhere that didn't have an organization or club that is dedicated to other gay students? If you did decide to come to Cabrini and once you were here and realized that you wanted a club that caters to you, would you want to start one? On the other hand, how would you feel if you were walking down the hallway, and as you look to your right, you see two females kissing each other good-bye? Turning the corner, you then come to see two males hand-in-hand as they walk up the steps.

Think about your childhood for a minute. What comes to mind? Swing sets, sandboxes and popsicles? For most children, their experiences, the ones they remember anyway, are about their favorite toy at Christmas, or their tee-ball team winning a trophy; all the good memories.

Between 2004 and 2006, Philadelphia had an average of 1.2 million volunteers who served 143.3 hours per year according to the Corporation for National and Community Service. With a population of over 1.4 million people living in Philadelphia, together with the hundreds of thousands that live outside the Philadelphia area, that's not a great amount of people who volunteer.

As finals week once again rolls around, stressed faces, messy hair and sweat shirts and pants grace our campus. Yet another semester is coming to a close and oh what a semester this has been. To start it off, President Iadarola announced her retirement after presiding as president of Cabrini College for the past 16 years.

According to Global Health Reporting.org, there are 33.2 million people in the world suffering from AIDS today. Americans are 1.3 million of those people. Disturbing numbers indeed, HIV/Aids is not a topic to joke around about. HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus.

Sexual harassment is a serious offense that has been extensively covered in the media in recent years. It seems as though we are constantly hearing of different situations happening between teachers and students, older men or women and little children, and even priests and little children.

It has been said that this upcoming election is one of the most important elections in United States history. Our country is in desperate need of a strong leader who can shape up all of the chaos and turmoil occurring in the United States today and around the world.
