Cabrini volunteers bring hope to West Virginia

Cabrini College's slogan, "Do something extraordinary," comes into effect as the College reaches out to a variety of programs in need of help and assistance. One of the programs is Camp Kismet, a camp for disadvantaged children in West Virginia. Called a "living legend" for her dedication to journalism and hard work, Cokie Roberts will be receiving the Ivy Young Willis Award for 2009 at Cabrini College on Feb. 5. Roberts is a political commentator for ABC News. ABC had a weekly interview program titled "This Week" which Roberts and friend Sam Donaldson co-anchored weekly from 1996-2002.

The Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome, the opening mass and first event of Cabrini week, took place in the Bruckmann Memorial Chapel on Sunday, Nov. 9.
