Point: Conversation 101 IM vs. Phones

Before I came to college, I barely knew what Instant Messenger was. At the start of freshman year, however, my typing skills rapidly increased due to all of the people I talked to on my computer. Now, two years later, I still love my IM ability to talk to so many people at one time, no matter where they are located - even if they're in the same room! I'm not one of those IM junkies who creates their own buddy icons and has alarms to notify me when every person on my buddy list signs on, but I am one of those IM junkies who wakes up every morning with my first thought being, "I wonder if anyone IMed me.

Eagles’ cheerleaders scouting a few good women

At the Hilton hotel at the Philadelphia Airport, a conference room was filled with approximately 400 anxious, aspirant, females, ranging from 18 - 35 years of age, waiting to try out for the Eagles cheerleading squad. April 14 was an early day for the majority in attendance, as potential cheerleaders were asked to be at the hotel by 8 a.

Boot Camp class at Dixon Center

On Thursdays, for those who enjoy a good workout, a new fitness class has been added to the schedule in the Dixon Center called "Boot Camp." Instructed by Tracy Greenwood, fitness director, this class is held from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Dixon Center aerobics room.

Salvaging the season

In a tremendous upset on March 9 that proved the men's lacrosse team still has their fire, Kean University fell to the Cavs by a score of 23-2. After losing two consecutive games, the Cavs were a little apprehensive that their season might be going down the drain, but with this game and the game right before it, they proved themselves, and everyone else, wrong.

Week in Review

Men's Lacrosse On Feb. 27, men's lacrosse started its season with an upsetting 14-3 loss to Franklin and Marshall. March 2 brought around a close game, but the end result was a 17-14 loss to Western Maryland. March 6 proved that the Cavs still have their power when they won against Dickinson, 15-7.

Shoulders to lean on

"Best friends are the siblings God forgot to give us," said an anonymous source. What defines friendship? To me, a friend is someone that I can talk to about anything and always depend on when I need someone to pull me through a rough time in my life. A friend is someone that I can act like a complete moron in front of, and (s)he will laugh right along with me.

In less than four months since the United States began bombing the Taliban regime of Afghanistan, and just weeks after the near-total defeat of the group, President Bush has invited the new temporary leader of Afghanistan to the White House and pledged lasting friendship and committed the United States to immediate and long-term aid.

Custodial staff cleans up Cabrini

After a typical Thursday night on a college campus, like Cabrini, the sight of excess trash is common. Does anyone ever stop to think about who has to clean that mess up? The custodial staff of the college works day and night, seven days per week in order to keep a clean atmosphere for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
