THE DESPERATE PHILLY FAN

By Nick Pitts
November 15, 2007

What does Philadelphia sports have to show for it since June of 1983? A lot of almosts, so closes, and could have beens. Plenty of superstars that never quite lived up to expectations, and a city of blue, orange and green blooded fans, desperate for a parade down broad street. I write as a fan, unfortunate enough to have been born in the midst of the worst dry spell in any cities history, going on 25 years. I write as a representative for the generation of desperate Philly fans.
