
The Cabrini women’s volleyball team continued their winning streak with a 3-0 sweep over Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday, Oct. 3. It was the team’s 10th consecutive win, keeping them undefeated in conference at 5-0 and improving them to 12-4 overall.
This ten game winning streak extends their regular season conference winning streak to 16 games.
The Lady Cavs started off strong and won four of the first five points in the first set. Only three times were the Gators attempting back-to-back serves as the Blue and White went on to dominate the first, set 25-11.
In the second set, the Lady Cavs kept up their phenomenal defense only allowing eight points in the whole set. They recorded five total blocks in the set and ended the set with nine straight serves in a 25-8 victory.
The third set featured more of the same. The defense was spectacular once again. The offense recorded 12 kills and just one error. Their great play never stopped throughout the whole match and the Lady Cavs went on to win the third and final set, 25-10, to complete the sweep.
Senior Danielle Carrozza led the team with 12 kills and added nine digs. Freshman Jen Grenauer added nine kills and five digs. Freshman Cassidy Koenig posted three kills, six digs and 31 assists.
The Lady Cavaliers go for their 11th straight win on Saturday, Oct. 6, when they travel to Cairn University for an 11 a.m. match. Their next home game is Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. when the Lady Cavs host Neumann University.
