Concerts are my life, my happy place. When I was a young girl, my first concert was The Backstreet Boys. I held my little poster of Nick Carter with a HUGE smile on my face. From then on, going to shows became almost like second nature to me.
In my life so far, I have been to a million and one shows. From We The Kings and Mayday Parade all the way to Taylor Swift and Luke Bryan, I live for the vibe you get from a concert. It is definitely the best part. To me, there is nothing better than being in a crowd of people who share the same musical interest as you. You all sing along to every song, you actually feel apart of the show.
Being a short girl, sometimes concerts can be difficult. I have been to shows where the venue was standing room only and others were assigned seating. If a concert is standing room, I usually have to get there at a decent time so I know I will have a good spot to see. At times I have literally shoved myself up to the front because I did not pay to stare at the back of someone’s head. At a venue with assigned seating, it is a lot less stressful.
Speaking of paying, one thing that is starting to stink about concerts in my opinion is how expensive they are getting. Some concerts I have been to cost me $15 and others go as high as $140. Being a college student, we have to spend our money on a lot of things so it does not help that shows are getting more and more expensive to attend. I currently have three shows lined up that I will be attending, but I have to wait because of how expensive they are. But I must say, once I get there, the money factor definitely goes away. The energy and happiness I get from a concert does not have a price.
In the end it all works out though. I do not think I can say I have ever been to a bad show. Every artist is different. They bring their own personality and style into their performance and I think that is what makes going to concerts so unique. I definitely plan on attending many more shows as my life goes on.
