Super Bowl Sunday has arrived and with that, many people have plans. Student athletes in particular seem to have a big interest in the big game.

“I’m ready to go hang out with some friends, eat some good food and watch some football,” Tom Ngo, club lacrosse player, said. “It’s something we all get pretty excited for.”

While some students stay on campus, many others tend to go off campus to watch the game with friends or family. Because of this campus seemed to pretty empty on Super Bowl Sunday.

“I’m going home to have a little bit of a party with my family,” Lauren Finnegan, Cabrini swimmer, said. “It’s just my family, but it can be a lot of fun.”

Finnegan said she lives over two hours away and was looking forward to being home with her family for the day.

Students who are leaving campus primarily go to their own homes. Others decide going to a friend’s house would be a more enjoyable experience.

“I’m so excited for the game,” Rachel Wood, Cabrini soccer player, said. “I’m going to my friends house with a bunch of other friends.”

Many students also have plans for food during the game.

Ngo said, “We planned on ordering a bunch of wings and stuff like that.”

Wings seem to be the food of choice when it comes to Super Bowl Sunday, as both Finnegan and Wood agreed that they would be ordering wings for the game.

While it’s not the only food being ordered, it is certainly the most popular.

A majority of Cabrini students are not from New England so it is unsurprising that most students at Cabrini will be rooting for the Rams over the Patriots this Super Bowl.

“I like to root for the underdog and Brady has enough rings,” Wood said.

Similarly, Ngo had very little to say about the Patriots or Tom Brady and none of it was good. He said that he would definitely be rooting for the Rams.

When asked who she wanted to win Finnegan said “not the Patriots.”
