The Dixon Center was full of students, professors and faculty on Cabrini Day, all there to present or learn—some even both. This year’s theme was homelessness. With over 60 posters and presentations, the room with teeming with excited students ready to share their insights on topics including poverty, domestic violence and all kinds of social injustices.
Most college students share one major concern. Money.
Such is the case for students such as sophomore Vanessa Charlot who was originally given work study but had it taken out of her financial aid package.

On Saturday, Oct. 18 Philadelphia hosted the Making Strides”breast cancer event. Thousands of people from all over attended this event and Cabrini’s Delta Xi Phi chapter was there to participate.

Teaching future educators how to properly address domestic abuse among children is no easy task. A recent symposium discussed how to deal with children who are exposed to domestic abuse with education majors.
The Dixon Center was packed with people this Saturday. However this time it was not the lacrosse team occupying the gym. A crowd of unfamiliar faces loaded into the Dixon Center Dance Studio as P.in.K, Cabrini’s self-defense class was held from 1p.m. to 3 p.m.

The First Annual Student Leadership Summit was held on Friday, Oct. 10, better recognized as the dean’s fall holiday. This enabled busy student leaders to earn the LEADStrong points they had been striving for or to discover ways to better their leadership roles in clubs with little conflict from their typically busy schedules.
Fire drills and emergency situations for students is a task that needs to be practiced to help public safety in knowing what to do in a real situation and how to handle the incident if occurs on Cabrini’s campus. This is especially important for those students with mobility issues.
