Must-see movies

Where do couples and friends like to go when they get bored on a Friday night? There’s no place better to go than the movie theater. With all the new movies coming out this fall, the theaters are going to be packed. This is what some Cabrini students think about all the new movies coming out this weekend and within the next month.

Annmarie Kolla, sophomore education major, said that “High School Musical 3 and Twilight are going to be big hits. A ton of little kids are going to go see HSM3 and since the Twilight series was a number one bestseller, the movie is obviously going to be a sell out.” The “Twilight” movie is coming out Nov. 21, starring Kristen Stewart as the main character Bella Swan, and Robert Pattinson as the main character, that every girl dreams about, Edward Cullen.

High School Musical 3 is coming out Friday, Oct. 24. Kolla also talked about the one movie she was not looking forward to seeing. “Although I like Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, their new movie just doesn’t look appealing to me. The plot is pretty stupid, I think.” “Four Christmases” did not make the top movies list at Cabrini.

Junior political science and history major Brian Moran is what you would call a movie person. He is very picky with his movies and it’s hard to please him. The new Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett movie “Curious Case of Benjamin Button” seems to have made Moran’s list of movies to see.

“The writer of this movie has also been the writer in other good movies such as: ‘The Good Shepherd,’ ‘Munich,’ ‘The Insider’ and ‘Forrest Gump.’ Also the two leading actors are selective in the roles they do, which lead to great movies” Moran said. It looks like he’ll be making a trip out on Christmas Day to see this movies debut. One thing Moran won’t be doing this Friday is going to the premiere of “Saw V.” “It just consists of stupid gore and d-rated actors getting mowed down by a psychopathic killer,” Moran said.

Another junior business major Andrew Jacobs said, “I can’t wait to see ‘Quantum of Solace’ because of all the action and fight scenes. It’s never dull and keeps me entertained.” This action filled sequel to Casino Royale comes out on Nov. 14, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond. “The Transporter 3”, starring Jason Statham, did not grab Jacobs attention. “I saw the first one to this sequel and it was terrible. I don’t expect this one to be any better.” “The Transporter 3” comes out Nov. 26.

SEaL, which is located by Cabrini’s bookstore, offers all students $2 movie tickets for the Anthony Wayne Movie Theater.
