Men’s tennis falls against PSU Berks

The Cabrini men’s tennis team fell short in their match against Penn State Berks on Saturday, Oct. 6.

In one fell swoop, the Nittany Lions racked up an 8-1 win against the Cavaliers.

Freshman Danton Moyer and senior Abui Santos put the lone point on the scoreboard for Cabrini in doubles, defeating their opponents 8-1. This was the first time Moyer and Santos were paired together and it seemed to be a smart move on Coach Larney Baylis’ part.

Freshman Colin Kilroy and junior John Giovanelli lost 8-4 in doubles and sophomore Anthony DiCicco and senior Ian Monson lost 8-3 in their match.

Baylis, the newest edition to Cabrini athletics, hasn’t lost enthusiasm for the remainder of the fall season and getting to know his player’s potential.

“I’m very new to the program,” Baylis said, “but I’m not new to the sport. They have only had two practices this fall season and I can already tell these young men have a lot of potential.”

With the fall season starting out 0-2 and their spring season still to come, men’s tennis can only improve from here.

Look for them as they hit the newly remodeled Dixon Courts for their final match of the fall season on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
