It is that time of year again- midterms! For most students here at Cabrini, that means midterm grades, papers and tests. But for the seniors at Cabrini University, it signals only a little while until graduation.

The past four years for many seniors has been a time filled with memories, laughs, friendships, all nighters, crunch time study sessions and stress. But how are they feeling realizing all of that is coming to an end?

Senior social work major Amber Dietrich said, “I’m excited but nervous [for graduation], I’m ready to be done school work for a little bit.”

Dietrich was very involved at Cabrini in her four years. She participated in softball all four years, and also was a student ambassador involved in Student Government, helped run Cabrini’s intramurals and recreation, first year experience, pre orientation, honors program, leadership LLC, classroom coach, peer mentor and team impact.

After graduation, Dietrich will be attending grad school to continue her degree in social work. “I will be going to UPenn for graduate school but haven’t decided what exactly I want to do yet.”

She has had plenty of memories and friendships made in her time as a Cavalier, ones she will cherish throughout her life.

“I’m going to miss the option to do as many things that I want when I want and I will miss the people I met over the last four years,” Dietrich said.

Another graduating senior is Kane McGovern. McGovern was part of the men’s basketball team for three years at Cabrini. He is an exercise science major at Cabrini. He hopes to become a strength and conditioning coach after graduation, and is still thinking about going to graduate school

“[Thinking about graduation] is scary but exciting to move onto whatever comes next in our lives,” McGovern said.

With graduation about two and a half months away, seniors are beginning their graduation activities. Commencement kick off approaches at the end of the March where seniors receive their cap and gown. Mid-May the seniors will have their “Senior week” from May 17-20, which includes a picnic, Phillies game and a trip to Atlantic City. Finally, graduation takes place on May 21.
