This movie is a gripping, edge of your seat thriller. It constantly keeps you guessing about what is going to happen next. It is a spellbinding tale that will keep your heart pounding from the many things that occur within the plot of the tale. This film displays utter suspense and has a few witty little jokes to lighten the mood of the plot.
To tell you a little bit about the movie it starts off with a simple salvage ship, The Arctic Warrior, and its crew of Gabriel Byrne as the ever adventurous Captain Sean Murphy, Julianna Marguiles as the brave Maureen Epps, Ron Eldard as the talented navigator Dodge, Isaiah Washington as the honest First Mate Greer, Alex Dimitriades as the very skilled mechanical engineer Santos, Karl Urban as the accident prone welder, Munder, and the newest member of their crew, the one who spotted this supposed “ghost ship,” Desmond Harrington as Jack Ferriman.
The salvage crew aboard the tugboat Arctic Warrior is the best in their field of business. Under the leadership of their esteemed Captain, Sean Murphy, and with the expertise of salvage team leader and sometimes overly bossy, Maureen Epps, they can locate any abandoned ship, patch it up until it’s ready to sail the seas again, and pull it back to shore for a price that suits the lot of them. Canadian Air Force pilot Jack Ferriman recruits the team to investigate a mysterious vessel he has spotted, while doing weather surveys, floating adrift off the coast of Alaska in a remote region near the Bering Strait. The team discovers the remains of the fabled Italian luxury liner, Antonia Graza, thought to be lost at sea for more than 40 years.
It’s a hell of a find–the salvage rights alone would be worth a fortune, if they get it back to sea. And by the maritime law, the law of the sea, any vessel discovered in international waters can be claimed by whoever is fortunate enough to find it and skilled enough to haul it back to port. But once onboard the eerie, cave of a ship, the crew of the Arctic Warrior discovers that the dying vessel is anything but deserted. It’s home to something more deadly and horrifying than anything they’ve encountered in all their years at sea. Now the crew must uncover the truth about the ship’s past and unlock the mystery that threatens their very survival.
I give this movie which kept me on the edge of my seat with all its twists and turns a rating of 3 out of 4 beanie babies.
