Getting into the holiday spirit

We are now in the holiday season. It’s hard to believe it’s already here but this is the most popular season for most people. While the holidays tend to bring families together, there are also many different events that are right at your finger tips.

Starting right after Thanksgiving, the joy of the holidays are all around. A lot of radio stations start to play their holiday music and the crisp cold air starts to set in. Many people like to take this time to enjoy the winter wonderland that starts to form.

It’s almost certain that most of retailers make the most of their money during the holidays so you are bound to find many different great sales along with beautiful decorations. One place that is a must for your holiday shopping is the King of Prussia Mall. Not only do they have almost every store imaginable but the decorations there are phenomenal. It really puts you in that giddy holiday mood. You also may be able to see Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas.

Another great spot to take a day trip to is New York City. Time’s Square is known for their huge Christmas tree and decorations all around the city. On Dec. 4, Student Engagement and Leadership (SEaL) is offering transportation to New York City from 10a.m. to 8p.m.

Also Sunday December 5, SEaL is holding a Christmas Carol Concert, so if you want to relieve some stress before the crazy week of finals be sure to check that out as well!

If you don’t want to go that far, another great place to get some holiday cheer is Philadelphia. For students, you can get train tickets from the seal office for $2. Penn’s Landing opened their skating rink November 26, and it goes up until around New Years.

While this is a little bit of a far drive from school a great place to go is Shady Brook Farms. It’s located in Newtown PA, which is about 45 minutes away from school. Each year they put on a spectacular drive thru “12 days of Christmas,” lighting show.

There are many different holiday events right at your finger tips so make sure to take advantage of them and spread some holiday cheer!
