History will be made on Saturday, when two of boxing’s greatest legends Floyd Mayweather, Jr and Manny Pacquiao square off in the ring. This fight has been anticipated for years now and it’s finally going to happen. This is the moment in history where people will be talking about for years.

The fight between Floyd Mayweather, Jr and Manny Pacquiao has been dubbed “The Fight of the Century.” Indeed it is the fight of the century with these two legends from their respective era’s colliding for the first time. Manny Pacquiao is the division eight world champion, while Floyd Mayweather, Jr is the undefeated five time world champion. The build up to this fight has been incredible and promises to have a lot of twists and turns.

Both champions have something on the line here and this is pride as both refuse to lay down for the other opponent. This fight looks to be the highest grossing fight in history and even though people all around the world have been making their predictions, it looks to be split in half that is, 50-50 on both sides.

To boxing fans this is a once in lifetime dream fight and everyone is patiently waiting to see who takes the win. This fight is the new generation’s version of Mohammad Ali vs. Joe Frazer. This fight is a classic contest between two of the all-time greats and even though both respective boxers have put their prides on the line, in the end it is the fans who get to be the winners because we get to sit back and enjoy this great fight.

The build up to this fight has been long overdue as its five years in the making for both boxers. To this generation, it is the biggest fight but as history shows us all Mohammad Ali vs Joe Frazier beats it. The fight itself may not be the biggest but it certainly is the most lucrative as it is expected to bring in a grossing “$400m in ticket sales and global TV revenue” according to independent.co.uk. The fight has certainly captured the public and media interest and both fighters definitely will not disappoint especially when it comes to putting on a good show.

This is certainly something special and 50 years from now when people talk about this fight, you will know that these great legends just like the other great boxing legends really left their mark on this great sports.
