Kerry Anne Farrell, senior field hockey forward, closed out her September with a bang.
Farrell broke the Cabrini field hockey record of most points scored on Friday, Sept. 18 at Widener University’s home field. Over her four years, Farrell has tallied 143 points beating the previous record of 141 held by Jessi Valerio.
“Breaking the record for most points is obviously such an honor as well as an accomplishment,” Farrell said. “I honestly wouldn’t of been able to do it without such an amazing team that fights alongside with me every game.”
Breaking the most points scored record has not been Farrell’s only accomplishment thus far in her career as a Cavalier. Farrell broke the 100 total points record in October 2014.
“Also, breaking 100 points last season was a great milestone in my career,” Farrell said.
Farrell has also been the field hockey team’s captain her junior and senior seasons.
Last season, she brought her team to the CSAC finals but lost to Gwynedd Mercy University. This year Farrell has high hopes for the 2015 season.
“As amazing as these accomplishments are, they are not possible without the whole team fighting for the same goal,” Farrell said. “And our team goal this year, that I think we all deserve and can achieve is to win the CSAC championship.”
Alex Swallow, fellow teammate, said, “Kerry works so hard on and off the field, as a teammate I look up to her because she does so much for our team. She never fails to let us down and that’s why I admire her as a fellow forward.”
Farrell has made her mark on the field hockey team and the Cavaliers wish her luck with the rest of the season and her future accomplishments.
