Easter break is the time for students to recharge and get a time off right before the semester ends.
As Cabrini students head home for break, they realize they have three weeks of classes left until finals week begins.
This break to some is a time to visit with loved ones and celebrate family traditions.
“For Easter we went to my aunt’s house,” sophomore Mary Kate Keenan said. “It was nice to see all of my family especially my cousin who is a Marine. It was great that he was home and that I got to spend time with him.”
Everyone celebrates their holiday in a different way which makes the Easter holiday stories so unique.
“For Easter I went to my grandmother’s house and spent time with my extended family,” freshman Lauren Hughes said. “My favorite tradition is the food that we eat on Easter. We eat specific Italian food for Easter brunch.”
The traditions families share are part of the reason Easter is such a special time.
“My favorite Easter tradition is making Easter breakfast with my family Easter morning. We made eggs, bacon, pancakes and much more,” Keenan said.
Not only do the students get to spend time with their family but they also get to have time off from school work and all the stress that comes along with it.
“I feel refreshed and well rested and enjoyed having a break from school,” Hughes said. “Being that we only have a short time left in school the break makes me feel motivated to finish strong so I can enjoy my summer.”
The Easter break falls right before the ending of the semester which allows students to recharge before finishing up final projects and beginning their preparations for final exams.
“It was nice to have a break from school work and have time to relax and have fun with me family and not have to worry about doing school work,” Keenan said. “It definitely makes me want summer more but I feel motivated to finish strong because I know in the long run it will pay off.”
