Kristen Mariana graduated from Cabrini College in 2009. Mariana spent her time at Cabrini majoring in psychology and minoring in history. When not studying, Mariana also was a part of psychology club, Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology, and Phi Alpha Theta, the international honor society for history.
After graduating from Cabrini, Mariana applied to graduate school. One year into graduate school, Mariana decided to work full time. She spent one year working at the University of Pennsylvania as a data reconciliation clerk.
In 2012, Mariana starting working at Independence Blue Cross where she is still working today. She began working as a corporate service specialist. In 2014, she was promoted to corporate relations coordinator. In 2014 Mariana also received her MBA from La Salle University.
Mariana would love to connect and network with any current Cabrini students. The best way to connect with Mariana is through email at kristen.mariana@ibx.com.
Seeing as Mariana has already experienced the stresses of graduating and finding a job, she offers advice for current students. “[I suggest] not to be discouraged if you don’t know what you’re doing after school,” Mariana said.
Mariana is also a prime example of entering a field of work that does not directly correlate to her field of study. “The jobs that I have done aren’t exactly in my field,” Mariana said. “Don’t think the job you get has to be in your major.”
