The women’s volleyball team lost their final game of the season to Cedar Crest College on Thursday Oct. 31. The ladies finished the season with an overall record of 8-14 and 2-8 in the PAC.

The women’s volleyball team kept its last game alive, holding Cedar Crest College all the way into the fifth match. Amanda White, who stands fifth in the PAC for hitting percentage, led the way with 16 kills, 4 aces, 4 digs, and 4 blocks. Kristin Boon also contributed with 17 kills, 9 digs, and 4 solo blocks.

Freshman Kacie Green said, “I feel that the team did very well this season and we have improved a lot since the beginning of the season.”

Junior, Alissa Smith said, “Overall, the season went well. The team got along really well this year and we had a lot of talent. We had a lot of new freshman that came in this year and they were a big help to the team. Next year we are going to be really good, and hopefully we will make it to the playoffs.”

The Lady Cavs are looking toward next year to improve even further and come out with an even better record than this year. Freshman Janelle Custer said, “I’m hoping that everyone will continue to play, and if they do I’m sure we’ll be really good, because we’ve had a whole year to grow together, and plus we’re only losing one player, although she was a great leader for the team.”

This season brought seven new freshmen to the team and a large stepping-stone for the women to take into next year’s competition.

Smith said, ” I think that all of the freshman are really good, and I think that they are now comfortable with volleyball at a college level. Next year they are going to have more confidence and determination to win.”

Tricia Arnold, head coach of the women’s volleyball team said, ” I love the team. I looked at this year as a building block for the years to come. We have good dynamics to build on for the future.”
