The Cav’s Corner was filled with students waiting in line to try the different food from around the world that was provided by various guest chefs here at Cabrini College.
The Chef Fare took place on Thursday, March 16 during the dinner hours from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The guest chef’s included Chef Tom, Chef Mark, Chef Rodney, Chef Steve and Chef Roy. The variety of chef’s created dishes from all over the world that consisted of dishes from Korea, Jamaica, India, Canada, India and Portugal.
The chefs had their variety of meals to offer for the Cabrini community. Included with the main courses, there was a desserts section that featured many foreign treats.
Some of the things that were offered for students were profiterole filled with vanilla ice cream that was topped with ganache from Canada. Kheer with pistachios and cardamon which is better known as basmati rice pudding from India. Also an almond torte from Portugal and bread pudding from Jamaica.
Students seemed to have many things to say about the variety of dishes prepared. “I really enjoyed the pork and plantains from chef Mark’s station,” sophomore, math major, Ally Fiorelli said.
Though a variety of options were given it seems as though chef Mark, Jamaica, was a hit. “I thought the pork that chef Mark made was really good,” junior, psychology major Gabby Aiello said.
If the poll was left up to Cabrini alone, Jamaica would be the sure winner. The chef’s will travel to the college’s of each chef to tally the votes. Who will ultimately win the chef’s fare competition?
