Coming off last Thursday’s victory, the Cabrini women’s volleyball team was ready for their home game against the Centenary University Cyclones.
The Cavaliers started out strong in the first match and the score was 7-1 before the first time out. Cabrini continued consistently scoring throughout the match, with the Cyclones trailing behind.
Cabrini won the first match with a score of 25-6.
Cabrini started out strong again in the second match and similar to how it went in the first, consistently scored throughout. Centenary continued fought back but could not manage to catch up.
The Cavaliers knew that they had to stay focused as a team in order to continue this winning streak.
“We just stay positive,” senior Kelly Guarino said. “If we see one team member upset about making a mistake we just go over to them and tell them to shake it off and get the next one.”
These efforts showed as Cabrini won the second match with a score of 25-5.
The Cavaliers started out strong in the third match as well. It was a hard fight, as the Cyclones were really focused on blocking Cabrini from scoring. They also scored a few points of their own, and the match ended more closely than the others.
Cabrini took the win for the game, winning the third match with a score of 25-11 and a final score of 3-0.
The team credited their teamwork and dedication to their victory.
“We play as a team and we don’t give up on each other,” sophomore Kassie Ockford said.
The Cavaliers volleyball team is set to play their homecoming game against Rowan University on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Nerney Field House.
