Cabrini Cavaliers and Delaware Valley have not met on the pitch since September 24, 2007, when the Blue and White left Doylestown, Pa. with a 3-1 victory. After a slow Start to the season, Cabrini men’s soccer seem to have found its stride as the team won its third consecutive game. The cavaliers beat the visiting team Delaware Valley College by 4-0. This improves their season to 3-5-2. A.j Bishop opened up the score in the 29th minute after hitting a rebound shot from Logan.
The cavaliers impressive shooting statistics in the first half proved to be the difference maker as Bishops goal was the only one that separated the two sides after 45 minutes.
The team’s attack in the second half was relentless which gave C.J Doherty a senior at Cabrini College his second goal of the season. C.J Doherty proved to be a leader on the field. Later in the game, Doherty ‘s pass found fellow senior Brett Lockbaum who shot straight into the net to give Cabrini College a 3-0 lead over Delaware Valley College. Bishop increased the score in the 60th minute when freshman Bobby Kane’s cross found Bishop who shot it into the net in the 60th minute.
The games statistics shows that cavaliers 25 shots on goal is the second of any game this season while Delaware Valley ‘s 6 is the least Cabrini has allowed. The cavaliers Hope to keep their impressive performance as they open up the CSAC play on Tuesday when they take on Rosemont College in a rematch of the 2012 CSAC championship game.
