Baseball Club splits double-header

The Cabrini Baseball Club Team played a double-header against Rider University on Saturday, April 12 at neighboring Eastern University's baseball field. The team lost the first game 9-6 but came back in the second game with a 16-6 victory. Sophomore Mike Manzione led the first game at noon on Saturday but several errors cost the Cavaliers the game.

IronPigs partner with WYBF

The Phillies AAA-affi liate team, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, have recently partnered with Cabrini's radio station, WYBF. The Cabrini students interning with the IronPigs will be working in a professional broadcasting environment and airing 70 of the IronPigs games this season.

William Penn statue curses Philly teams

As a true Philadelphia sports fan, I am a firm believer of the William Penn Statue Curse. For those of you that don't know, the curse has been in play since the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers have not won a championship since 1987. The bronze statue of William Penn stands atop Philadelphia City Hall.

The softball team split a double-header with Gwynedd-Mercy College on Saturday, March 29 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference play. In game one, the Lady Cavs were defeated 3-2 as the Griffins scored the winning run in the top of the ninth inning. "All of game one was really challenging.

Men’s tennis competes in Hilton Head

The men's tennis team traveled to Hilton Head, S.C. over spring break in order to prepare for their upcoming spring season. The Cavaliers competed in 8 a.m. matches against Catholic University, Stonehill College and Augustana College and later held afternoon hitting sessions.

Ecuador: Living off one dollar a day

For my spring break I didn't take the typical trip to Cancun, Florida or any other vacation spot. Instead I spent my 10 days off from school living in poverty in Duran, Ecuador. Why, you may ask, would I ever want to spend spring break living off of $1 per day? But, the experience I had with Rostro de Cristo was much more valuable than anything I had ever learned before.

Cavs beat rival Eastern, boost to PAC playoffs

The men's basketball team defeated rival Eastern University 66-63 in a tight match on Monday, Feb. 18. The Cavaliers added two foul shots in the last 30 seconds of the game to ensure their win. This win secured a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Playoff spot for the Cavs and improved their record to 12-13 overall and 9-7 in the PAC.

The Natalee Holloway case has been a mystery that has crossed my mind repeatedly since her disappearance. The recent re-opening of the case has reminded me of the severity of being under the influence in a place unfamiliar to you with people whom you don't know.

Cavalier Tip-off: Students show spirit for basketball season

The Dixon Center gym was filled with Cabrini pride on Thursday, Oct.25 for the Cavalier tip-off. With music blaring and fans cheering, the anticipation for the men's and women's basketball seasons grew. The doors opened at 7:30 p.m. where the cheerleaders and dance team welcomed guests into the gym before the festivities began.
