Savings plan could help students pay college tuition

As the cost of college rises, many students are having a rough time finding the money to pay for their education. One way of setting aside money for college is through a 529 plan, also known as a qualified tuition plan. The concept of a 529 plan was formed through Section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1996.

Obama proposes restraints for national banks President Obama publicly proposed putting restraints on some of the largest national banks on Thursday, Jan. 21. Regulations would not only limit the bank's size but would also limit risky activities. Obama's proposal would also ban proprietary trading, which is when commercial banks trade their own accounts.

Not for Sale club brings awareness to human trafficking

Since the Not for Sale campaign presentation, many students at Cabrini have started advocating against human trafficking. One form of advocacy is through the newly created Not for Sale club which sponsored a movie night on Nov. 16. The movie shown, "Human Trafficking," is based off of a true story and was released in 2005.

Students audition for ’25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’

It's that time of year again when the Cabrini College Theatre chooses a musical to perform in the spring semester. This year's selection is the "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and auditions were held recently on Nov. 17 and 18. Before the auditions started, nervous students filled the lobby outside of the theater waiting for his or her turn.

College experience: no excuses for commuter students

Cabrini’s Theatre seating not adequate for audience members

One thing that can be looked forward to every spring is the Cabrini College Theater’s spring musical production. This year audiences will be able to enjoy the Steven Sondheim musical, “Merrily We Roll Along.” The theater program at Cabrini is in our opinion one of the most hardworking and dedicated programs we have seen. It works with its small space and produces an extraordinary show creating full houses and then some every night.
