Freedoms tennis return to Cabrini

World Team Tennis is back at Cabrini for the third consecutive year. This season's team will consist of Martina Navratilova, Vera Zvonareva, Elena Tatarkova, Nathan Healey and Andrew Florent. The Freedoms will have seven home matches that will take place on the tennis courts on Cabrini's campus.

Volleyball 3-0 in spring tournament

The volleyball team went undefeated with a record of 3-0 at an off-season tournament at Villa Julie College on Saturday, April 5. In the tournament the Lady Cavaliers defeated Villa Julie College, Mary Washington College and a USAV team; a women's club team that consists of former college players.

Doing the right Fling

It's that time of year again. Time for barbeque, inflatables and music. On Saturday, May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the common's area, Campus Activities Programming Board will be hosting the college's annual Spring Fling event. If there is inclement weather, Spring Fling will be relocated in the Nerney Field house in the Dixon Center.

Women’s lacrosse win three over Easter break

While most students went home for Easter break, the women's lacrosse team was busy improving its record to 10-3 overall, and 9-0 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. The Lady Cavaliers played three PAC games and defeated each team by at least 10 points.

Men’s tennis has high hopes despite two losses

The weather has been less than ideal for the men's tennis team this year, but that is not stopping them from putting forth their best efforts. The Cavaliers suffered a 4-3 loss against Ursinus College on Thursday, April 3. They continued with another out of conference match against King's College on Sunday, April 6, which they lost 5-2.

Rolling on to the playoffs

Cabrini's roller hockey team ended its regular season with a win against St. Joseph's 2, 9-1 on Sunday, March 31, at the Marple Sports Arena. This win gave the Cavaliers a 12-4 record, enough to put them into third place for the playoffs. The top three seeds in the playoffs belong to St.

On Sunday, March 23 Cabrini's roller hockey team defeated Philadelphia University 8-6. The Cavaliers came back from a two-goal deficit in the third period to move into a tie for first place with Lehigh University. The game started out with Philadelphia University scoring the first two goals.

’84 Cabrini Alumnus races for a cure

He has 15 years of multi-sport experience, including 12 marathons and three iron distance triathlons. With the support of his wife and two daughters, '84 Cabrini alum Steve Brown will be competing in Iron Man USA to raise funds for the Philadelphia affiliate of The Susan G.

Service widens horizons

Service learning is definitely not one of the reasons why I chose to come to Cabrini. I really did not think that I had the time to spend with someone who needed my help. This may make me seem selfish, and that is probably true, but the last thing that I wanted to do was work with people who did not know my native language or inner city children.

Crowd provides edge for Cavs

The men's basketball team played before a crowd of 493 people in their win against the Eastern University Eagles on Jan. 20. The Cavaliers dominated a majority of the first half. At one point Cabrini led by 10 points after a nine to two run. However, due to a great number of fouls and turnovers by both teams the Cav's lead was cut to one at the break.

Meet the Phillies 2003

A record number of people flooded into the King of Prussia Mall on Saturday Jan. 18, for the sixth annual taping of "Meet the Phillies 2003." Fans began showing up at the mall as early as 5:30 a.m. to get the opportunity to get an autograph from Pat Burrell and new acquisition Jim Thome.

Students show off talent for title

Mr. and Miss Cabrini were crowned in the cafeteria in the third annual Mr. and Miss Cabrini Pageant. Junior Laura Cover and senior John Verdi took the honors after three rounds of competition that consisted of a talent round, pajama round and a question and answer round.

Don Guanella School active in campus activities

The men's basketball team scrimmaged the children from the Don Guanella Springfield Delaware County School for Boys on Sunday, Nov. 17. The Don Guanella School is a residential facility for males from the age of 5 to 21 with special needs in Philadelphia.

Registration for the spring semester has arrived, and many students will find that they cannot register for their classes because they have a financial hold on their student record. This hold can be due to any number of situations, such as the additional charges that students incur throughout the semester, not making payments through the payment plan or financial aid that falls through.

Men's Soccer Washington defeated the Cavs 4-3 on Wednesday. On Saturday Cabrini lost to Arcadia 3-0. Women's Soccer On Tuesday Eastern defeated the Lady Cavaliers 4-0.

Public safety busy with freshman class; drug busts rising

Every year the beginning of the fall semester is a busy time for public safety. There are numerous drinking violations, fights, harassing phone calls and drug violations. So far this semester there have been three drug violations on campus, and up to this point there have been 29 total drug violations in 2002.
