“Hi, my name is Maddie Logue. I am sophomore communications major and I will be giving your tour today. If you have any questions throughout the tour, please let me know!”

When I first toured Cabrini at the end of my senior year of high school, I fell in love with the campus. I fell in love with everything from the communications wing to the the little black box theater in Grace Hall. The Cabrini Ambassadors were some of the first people to persuade me to come here.

I knew that I wanted to join the admissions team my freshman year. The process was pretty intimidating and competitive. Luckily, I made it to the final interview round. I was then selected out of 60 students to be a student ambassador.

Fast-forward a year later and I am working as student ambassador, giving tours to prospective students. There is nothing more rewarding than touring with a family and seeing them at Accepted Student Day.

Our job as ambassadors is to give personal reasons of why Cabrini is the right fit. At the end of the day, we are just one big, happy family. I am beyond grateful to share these moments with students and influence their decision to enroll.

I have learned many skills that will help me to succeed in my future endeavors by being a student ambassador. My public speaking has improved significantly from giving tours to large groups of families. I have gained personal relationships with both the students and families. I pride myself on making sure everyone feels welcome and I share my first-hand experience.

The best part about being a student ambassador is Accepted Student Day. We all wake up at 6 a.m. to hype the students enrolled by blasting popular tunes and dancing all morning long.

You would never be able to tell that the majority of us are running on just a few hours of sleep. It makes the job really worthwhile when you see 350 kids running into the Dixon Center for the first time as they commit to Cabrini University.

At the end of the day, I know that we impacted their decision to come here. The student ambassadors are the people that allow you embark on the best four years of your life!
