Since the beginning of her freshman year, Erin Kelly has been an active student at Cabrini University. Kelly will graduate this May 2017 with her majors in accounting and finance and with a minor in international business. In the summer and fall of 2017, she plans to return to the university to pursue her master’s degree in accounting.

Kelly was one of the 14 award recipients at Cabrini who received the 2017 “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” award.

According to an email sent out by the Student Life center at Cabrini, the “Who’s Who Award is given to those seniors whose accomplishments and contributions reflect the University’s commitment to scholarship, leadership and service.”

In order to be considered for the award, students had to apply and be recognized for their academic achievements, leadership and service while being a student at Cabrini University.

Throughout Kelly’s time at Cabrini, she was recognized for academic excellence various times. Kelly made Dean’s List, President’s List, was involved in the Sigma Beta Delta (Business Honors Society) and the Omicron Delta Kappa (Leadership Honor Society) – member and president, 2016-2017.

“I think the most rewarding experience I’ve had at Cabrini is just really seeing that hard work does pay off,” Kelly said. “I also really loved the fact that Cabrini is a liberal arts school because it encouraged students to go outside of their comfort zone but most importantly to give back. I have got to participate and be a part of so many volunteer days and events and I am proud of the work that Cabrini does and how it incorporates it into our core values and curriculum.”

In addition to her academic achievement recognition and her involvement in the honors programs, Erin also was a member of the IMA Accounting Association, the Financial Management Association Honor Society, received the PICPA Outstanding Senior Award and the John Remley Memorial Scholarship Award.

Additionally, she demonstrated several leadership roles during her time here at Cabrini. Kelly was the President of the Executive Board for the Student Government Association, a member of LEADStrong, an advanced accounting tutor, captain of the rowing team, a campus resident assistant, a member of the accounting association and the vice president of the finance association.

“I’m pretty much your typical college kid. I like to stay busy as you can see and am actively involved throughout Cabrini’s campus. I really have a passion for helping people and try to do so as often as I can. Aside from my busy schedule I love spending time with my friends and family and I always make sure no matter how crazy things can get that I set some time aside to just take break and have some fun.”

“Cabrini is what you make of it. I couldn’t have asked for a better four years. I made friends, got involved, and learned so much in the process,” Kelly said. “It’s a very bittersweet time with graduation only about a month away, but I can truly say that I made the most of my time here and thank everyone (my professors, advisors and friends) that was a part of my last four years here.”
