Next weekend the Men’s Lacrosse team welcomes Haverford College to Edith-Robb Dixon Field to open the season. With a new season approaching, the team was ranked #7 in the pre-season poles, and as always are favorites to bring home another CSAC title
“We are honored to be ranked in the preseason poles but we really don’t put much stock in it,” said Head Coach Steve Colfer, “These rankings are usually based more off of what you did last season and the only ranking we care about is the last one of the season.” It is always difficult to measure up how teams will do before the season starts but as it stands, Coach Colfer is confident in his sides chances and is excited for the season. “We are excited to open our season vs. Haverford,” said Colfer, “It is a great local rivalry and both teams I am sure will be ready to go.”
Game-day is swiftly approaching and with another winning season in sight Coach Colfer and his players are excited to start the season, no matter the outcome. “We are excited as a team to get this season underway and to see how far we can go,” said Steve Halko, sophomore chemistry major, “we practice hard and have a lot of confidence in our ability, we’re looking forward to a possible return to the NCAA tournament.”
Confidence is key, practice makes perfect and that is exactly what the team has had and done. “We have been working really hard the last 4 weeks to be as prepared as we can and I feel the guys will be excited to play the game,” said Colfer. It’s almost game time, so come support and help the team reach their goals.
