Infamously the rapper has rudely opened his mouth once again.
Among the winners of the 57th Grammy awards was Beck, The artist took home the Album of the Year award, beating the night’s top winner Sam Smith and even Beyonce.
Kanye West was once again unhappy with Beyonce’s loss to Beck and reportedly told E! news after the show “I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce.”
I saw Beck walk up to take his award and West almost interrupt him, but while watching the ceremony I merely thought that West was trying to be funny and make light of his mistake.
During the 2009 Video Music Awards’s, West jumped on stage after Taylor Swift won Best Female Video. He took the microphone from Swift and said, “Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”
This move shocked many and led a number of celebrities to condemn West through tweets. Rolling Stone would go on to mark this event the wildest moment in VMA history.
After all of the backlash I would think that West would have learned to have a little more respect for artists other than Beyonce, but he managed to prove to pessimists that people really don’t change.
In a later interview with E! news’s Ryan Seacrest, West claimed that voices in his head are what led him to make this statement.
I think West may just be trying to save himself from becoming disliked throughout the industry. Ryan Seacrest’s interview with West revealed that the rapper had plans to go into the studio to work with Taylor Swift. This move could have potentially helped West rebuild his reputation by showing he’s tried to right his wrongs but I think his comment after the Grammy’s will hinder his ability to show he has learned his lesson.
I remember it was incredibly astounding to watch as West hopped on-stage to interrupt Taylor Swift six years ago, but to see that he has not really changed his ways makes me question how sincere anything he does actually is.
Even Kim Kardashian, his wife, who is arguably famous for no reason, appeared to roll her eyes as the original statement that caused all the drama came from West’s mouth, yet again.
A few twitter users have defended the rapper, whose singing career has made him popular and brought him the fame that enabled his rude behavior.
Unless you’re doing everything in your power to create the world you want on a daily basis, then leave Kanye alone.

Kanye is so misjudged and misinterpreted it’s crazy. Don’t always go with the hype. pic.twitter.com/XeXeC9pvY5

On the other hand, there was also a lot of criticism that spread on the popular social networking site for the rapper, which I think he deserves.
If #Kanye calls himself a true artist then surely he can recognize another strong visionary presence such as #Beck. C’mon show some respect.

Cannot believe Kanye tried to ruin Beck’s moment. Eugh. No respect for that guy now — Victoria (@inthefrow) February 9, 2015
I have nightmares about Kanye showing up at my work yelling “He don’t deserve this job!” — BAH WAHL (@HallpassCanada) February 9, 2015
As popular as Beyonce may be, I am personally not a fan of “Queen Bey” and I think that Kanye West is in need of learning how to let someone other than Beyonce receive praise for artistry.
