The fashion industry keeps it simple this season.
Women seem to be dominating the clothing industry with their comfy-cute style. Sophomore education major Katie Duffy said, “My favorite fall fashion trend is leggings, a cute sweater, and a nice pair of boots.” While walking around campus you can see this is the popular clothing choice of many young female students. College students everywhere are all agreeing that keeping it comfortable and still accessorizing is the way to go. Duffy said, “You can wear scarves whenever! I am totally in love with scarves!”
In the world of college fashion, students are finding themselves sticking to the basics and adding their own personal flair. Over-sized sweaters are very popular. Although they may seem simple and ordinary, junior exercise science major Alexis Drew says, “I don’t really watch the fashion trends, I kind of just do it.” When asked what she can never go without in reference to style, Drew said, “My smile. That’s my favorite accessory.”
Women everywhere also seem to be loving the little black dress. That never seems to go out of style. This look is perfect for a day at work. Many girls are adding open, long sweaters to their dresses and tall boots for the daytime. Then, at night, they throw on a pair of heels and a leather jacket and they’re ready for a fun evening out!
What seems to be the trend within the trends is dressing up simple pieces to add your own personal touch. For example, while wearing leggings and a tee shirt may seem basic, there are many ways fashionistas are switching up their style. Adding pumps and a blazer for a more business casual look is the perfect outfit for an internship interview. On the contrary, the perfect comfortable look for class could simply be adding your favorite infinity scarf and low boots. Don’t forget to incorporate Starbuck’s pumpkin spice latte in your perfectly dark-colored manicured hand for the best autumn ensemble!
