Comedian kicks off spring semester

Spring semester is in full swing and so is the Campus Activities and Programming Board. Just two days after students moved back onto campus, comedian Tim Young performed for 135 students on Tuesday, January 13. He brought a sense of relaxation to students who were preparing for another stressful semester.

Young opened his performance by sharing memories of a time when he was in college and his college roommate. He joked about the parties they would attend and how he got stuck with a roommate who would do everything a bad roommate would do. Young even made fun of those girls who highlight everything that they consider important as they study and end up highlighting a whole page.

Young has appeared at over 200 colleges and had two nominations for Comedian of the Year. He has also performed on MTV’s “Apartment 2F,” “The Jim Bruer Show,” and “Daria,” as well as several appearances on NBC’s “Friday Night.” He appeared in the Montreal “Just For Laughs” comedy festival and he recently taped an episode of “Premium Blend” for Comedy Central. Also, in his own personal fantasy world, he has been a rock star for most of his life.
