B2K, one of the most beloved boy bands of the early 2000s, and made up of Omarion, Boog, Fizz and Raz B, is set to reunite for the tour along with other R&B and hip-hop mainstays of the decade such as Mario, Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd and many more.

“We as a generation were too young to appreciate the decade and the music created during it,” Lauren Buck, a sophomore elementary education, special education major, said. “It’s awesome to see a generation of music reintroduce themselves and show what made them so entertaining. ”

B2K first broke onto the charts in 2001, earning four top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including their number 1 song, “Bump, Bump, Bump,” with P. Diddy.

The band split in 2004 and each member continued solo careers after the movie they stared in “You got Served.” The last time the group reunited was in 2005.

Elaina Loveland, a junior elementary education, special education major, said “I remember listening to all these artists songs on the radio, I haven’t heard them in so long.”

For many this will be a blast from the past. The tour will hit 25 cities across the United States including the Licacouras Center in Philadelphia on March 30.

“It will be great to see a mix of generations, new and old, come together in the Philadelphia area to listen to an iconic genre of music,” Jordan Krug, a senior marketing major, said.

This tour was created to not only bring back memories that were made over a decade ago but also to create new ones for the next generation.

Although this genre of music has faded over the years, the memories and the lasting impression that will last for a long time.

Corey Hunt, a sophomore secondary education major, said, “Music brings people together and this genre of music will definitely bring together a diverse crowd of people all across the country who all love and missed this music.”

Fans have been anxious for the group to reunite in the midst of many other groups reuniting over the span of five years. The announcement was a surprise to many as the ideas has been tossed around for two years.

The tour includes many chart-toppers and plans to be a special event.
