A medley of modern day songs, original and personal music, a drag queen, an encore that takes you back to his early days on YouTube plus a marriage proposal! All of this was wrapped up in Todrick Hall’s, “Straight Outta Oz World Tour.”

Playing to a sold out crowd at the Filmore in North Philadelphia, Hall and his troupe of dancers and divas performed this hearts out as they brought to life some of Hall’s most personal struggles that he has faced throughout his life. He touched on being gay, his relationship with his mother and gun violence.

He opened with a medley of modern pop songs to hype up the crowd before taking them down the yellow brick road to “Oz-angeles.” Each song represented a pivotal moment in Hall’s life that has shaped him into the man he is today.

What makes Todrick Hall so unique as a performer is that he writes, produces, directs, choreographs and does all of the behind the scenes work for his projects. With help from his friends, Hall has been able to make his dreams a reality.

And if bringing his songs from his “Straight Outta Oz (Deluxe Edition)” album to life onstage was not enough, Team Toddy surprised the audience with a few new songs that help tell the story of Hall’s journey to Hollywood.

Not every song performed during the concert was sung by Hall though. He had three “divas” come out to perform “Flying Monkey Lament 1 and 2,” “Papi” and “Water Guns.” He also had Teresa Stanley, who some fans might recognize from his YouTube video “Weave Girls” portray his mother.

Other familiar faces in the cast include Hall’s best friend Chester Lockhart, Brittanie Brant and Jenni Thomasson, who were all regulars on Hall’s one season run MTV series Todrick.”

The encore was a special surprise for “Toddlerz.” Hall and his team broke out into a medley of some of his early and most popular YouTube videos. Featured songs included “Weave Girls,” “Twerking in the Rain,” “4 Beyonce” and they finished off with “Haterz.”

But that was not the end of surprises!

Hall brought two fans up on stage for a “meet and greet” that turned into a PROPOSAL! It was truly a fairytale night and one fans will never forget.

With just coming off a Broadway run as Lola in the Tony Award Winning musical “Kinky Boots” it is amazing how Hall found the time to put together this tour.
