Determined, Kara Schneider has a passion for producing and making the WYBF radio station a success. Schneider started freshman year as an English and Communication major, creating Public Service Announcements, promos, editing and maintain the radio station databases. Currently a senior, she holds the role as production director for 2 years now.

Schneider is a finalist for a national CBI award and a Philly AIR Award for her documentary, “Our Hands are Not Tied.” The documentary explains the awareness and advocacy of AIDS in underdeveloped and developing countries. She was also a finalist in 2007 for her March of Dimes promo for the Philly AIR Awards. She is also the producer of Big House Radio, an alternative Christian music show.

Working for WYBF gives Kara the drive and energy that any employer would love to initiate on to their team. Schneider’s reliability at WYBF inspired the host of Big House Radio, Chuck Kieffer to choose Schneider to help him produce the show. The show has been a huge success, with offers from other stations and her skills have grown immensely by furthering her education at Cabrini College.

Big House Radio is a diverse radio show playing anything from hip/hop, rap, women artists, alternative and even metal music. Big time bands like Life House and Switchfoot are considered Christian bands. Even the famous member of the band Marylin Manson, Brian Neal is now playing Christian alternative music and it’s on Big House Radio. The show airs weekly on Wednesdays 5 p.m. to 7p.m. where every show is live this year and contains giveaways and prizes half way through the show. So tune in for great music and great giveaways for Big House Radio only heard on 89.1 WYBF-FM, “The Burn.”
