On Saturday March 29, the women’s lacrosse team suffered an 11-8 loss against Rowan University. The Lady Cav’s we were down at 2-6 at one point and came back to be within one goal. However, at the end of the half, the score was 5-7 with Rowan still leading.

“Rowan is a big game for us, we played well and it was a great game, but I think that we still have not reached our potential to succeed in games outside of the PAC,” junior co-captain Anne Dougherty said.

She explained their main goal as a team is to win the PAC and go far in the NCAA tournament. She feels it is necessary to beat teams like Rowan in order to prepare them and build confidence in their play

Wednesday’s game against Immaculata was a different story. The Lady Cav’s exploded out onto the field and dominated the game with a final score 15-1.

“The Immaculata game was a good chance for everyone to play. It is good to see that we can rely on our bench and have so much depth. It gave other players a chance to step up and have the opportunity to play,” Dougherty said.

There are some big games coming up for the women’s lacrosse team. April 3 they are on the road to play Susquehanna at 4pm. Saturday is another big game against Villa Julie at 1pm, which is also the team’s family day

“We invite all players’ families, alumni and their families and coaches’ families. We have food and drinks and it give the players and coaches a chance to introduce their family to the team,” Dougherty said.
