The Bachelor season finale

The season finale of the Bachelor aired on Monday, March 10, 2020. Bachelor Peter Weber started out with 30 girls and was down to his final two. Hannah Anne Sluss and Madison Prewett are the last two girls Weber had kept.

Weber has had a crazy season not many Bachelor fans have like and supported. He has been very emotional and let his heart speak maybe a little too loud. There has been a lot of tears, not only by the girls but by Weber as well.

The two girls and Weber were in Australia for the season finale. Weber will propose to one of the girls and plan to spend the rest of his life with them and the other girl will be left heart broken.

The season finale was very unpredictable. No one expected how Weber’s journey was going to end, not even him. In the end Prewett left him before the final rose ceremony. Peter did not have to choose between two girls he only had Sluss left. He ended up proposing to Sluss, but it wasn’t a fairytale ending.

He and Sluss did not see each other much after Weber proposed on the show. Weber then broke things off with Sluss because he was not 100 percent sure he made the right decision and still had the thought of Prewett on his mind.

In the end, Weber asked Prewett if she would give him a second chance. Sluss was very hurt and felt very betrayed.

Her first engagement ruined and taken from her because Weber couldn’t make up his mind. Many fans were very angry by this ending and were in support of Sluss rather than Weber.

Bachelor fan Kelly Sweeney, sophomore educator major, was very disappointed by the ending.

“I have been watching Peter’s whole season and it ended like that. I feel like this season was just a waste,” Sweeney said.

Many fans had the same reaction as Sweeney. This was also the second season in a row where the Bachelor or Bachelorette did not end in an engagement.  As seen on reactions on social many fans felt for Sluss and were against Weber for having an engagement with her and then breaking it off.

If I was in the position Sluss was in I would be devastated to get proposed to by someone and then them calling it off because another girl is still on his mind,” Sweeney said.

Social media went crazy after the season finale aired. They hated the ending and how Weber treated Sluss.

Lindsey Pozaic, sophomore computer science major, has been watching the Bachelor ever since she could remember.

“I am not sure if I would ever personally want to be on the show, I prefer to find someone the old fashion way and meet in real life and not on so much on reality tv”, Pozaic said.

Fans of the show were very surprised by the ending and could not see it coming at all. It recent years there have been spoilers as to who the bachelor or bachelorette would end up with.  That did not happen this year.

Weber broke up with 30 different girls and did not find love or a fiancé. It seems as though his whole journey went to waste, he did not even end up with a girlfriend.

This season, as well as the last season of The Bachelorette, is really upsetting fans because there is not engagement at the end.

As a  result of the show and social media, it seems as though Sluss has received the most fame and publicity, even though she was not the winner. She has created a platform that is standing up for women and spreading the message of being strong and not always needing a man in your life to do so.
