Applications for the position of counselors for the orientation sessions for incoming freshmen and transfer students this summer are available in the Office of Student Activities. The forms need to be filled out completely and handed in no later then Friday, January 30, 2004 at 5 p.m.
Jason Bozzone, director of student activities, said, “The orientation leader position provides you with an excellent experiential learning component in leadership development, organization, communication, teamwork and contributes greatly to your general personal development, too.”
The primary responsibility of an orientation leader is to ensure that all first-year and transfer students make a smooth transition into Cabrini College by familiarizing them to the campus and all of the college’s resources.
Bozzone said, “The office of student activities selects a group of mature and dedicated undergraduate leaders to assist with implementing the orientation program. In this capacity, orientation leaders serve as peer advisers, resource persons, mentors and role models to new students and families attending Cabrini College.”
Compensation for orientation leaders is in the forms of free housing and food for their contribution efforts towards all the orientation sessions. Those interested in applying to be an orientation counselor should do so immediately since the Office of Student Activities is looking for a maximum of 25 students to fulfill this duty.
