Nancy Ollinger has been promoted to the assistant to the vice president of finance and administration, Stephen Lightcap. Lightcap is in charge of many important services like public safety, facilities, the dinning hall and the school’s budget. Ollinger assists Lightcap with managing his schedule and setting up meetings.

Ollinger was formerly the accounting coordinator at Cabrini, but when she heard about Lightcap’s assistant leaving she quickly applied for the position and got it.

“I’ve liked my experience here at Cabrini College and all the positions I’ve had here, but I especially like being the assistant of the vice president of finance and administration because it’s more of a job that involved contact with the outside,” Ollinger said. “It’s always something new everyday, and I like that about the job.”

Ollinger graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She previously worked in a church when she lived in Florida and handled their finances. When she moved to Pennsylvania, she was qualified and looking for a job.

Ollinger responded to an ad in the newspaper and began working at Cabrini in 2004 as a payroll assistant. After just two years she has become the assistant of the vice president of finance and administration.

Ollinger is very involved with her family and hopes that her oldest will decide to come to a small school like Cabrini. “I just like the environment a small school has to offer its students,” Ollinger said. Her goals for the future are to get her two children, ages 14 and 11, through school to the best her of capabilities as being a mother.

And her background shows that she is a very determined individual, she has only been here for two years and has already received a promotion.

“I really enjoy what I do for a living, and like anything I will try my best to serve as an assistant to Lightcap,” Ollinger said.
