Sharae Middlebrook, no. 22, leads the women’s basketball team this season. The Lady Cavalier’s basketball team is made of younger players who seek to learn from the veteran.

Middlebrook, a junior English and communication major, comes from Philadelphia, Pa., where she attended Central High School.

Middlebrook began playing basketball for the Cavaliers as a guard. This is now the third season for Middlebrook.

Middlebrook is the only junior on a team full of sophomores and freshmen. Being the oldest member of the team, Middlebrook feels a little responsibility for the younger players, although she does realize they are about the same age as she.

Middlebrook feels confident about the team, which she says is extremely talented. Currently, the team record is 13 wins and six losses.

“I expect that we will do well and we won’t lose without a fight,” Middlebrook said.
