Dear Editor:
I transferred to Cabrini in the Spring of 2002. The following Fall semester, I d
ecided to stay on campus for convenience, even though I had a car. I went t
hrough the housing process turned in my housing application about 1 m
onth before the deadline. I had requested to live in a single in one of the h
ouses. August approached and I received a call from the man that was the D
irector of Residence Life at the time. Needless to say, I was not happy with t
he results. First of all, my housing application was lost. There went my c
hance of getting a single room. I was to be housed with someone I didn’t k
now and that person ended up rooming with her best friend. For three w
eeks I had a room to myself and had no idea that at any moment someone c
ould be placed with me. I found out two days prior to receiving a roommate t
hat I was going to have a roommate. The girl moved in and there was an e
xcessive amount of chaos and stress in my life. All of this could have been a
voided had the proper person taken my application in the first place and p
rocessed it like he or she should have.
I feel that it is ridiculous that Cabrini students are paying $20,000+ to a
ttend the school and can’t even stay on campus. I though the point of s
taying on campus was for convenience and easy accessibility.
