The date, Sept. 21, 2006. The time, 9:00 p.m. The beat of your pulse is intense; it reads dramatic suspense and scandalous love affairs over bloodshed and death of loved ones. What is all of this chatter I hear around the campus of Cabrini? “Grey’s Anatomy” is back and on its way to sewing up the sutures which left audiences’ mouths agape last season.

“Grey’s Anatomy” left off last season with Izzie broken-hearted,Meredith torn between Derek, a.k.a “McDreamy,” and the vet, Finn and Dr. Burke recuperating from his heart transplant. These are but a few of the dramas in which the characters of “Grey’s Anatomy” are faced with when returning to the third season this fall.

The first episode on Thursday, Sept. 21 brought many new dramatic situations to the sitcom, such as the young girl who tossed her baby inthe dumpster, and Adele’s proposal to leave Dr. Richard if he doesn’t leave the hospital. Even though the rollercoaster on “Grey’s Anatomy” hit new highs, problems from season two were still not resolved.

“I can’t wait to see who Meredith chooses because I don’t think the season would be as suspenseful if she chooses McDreamy right away;love is a battlefield,” Amy Troendle, a sophomore human resource major, said.

The season opener also included various flashbacks such as Meredith’s mother’s love affair with Dr. Richard and Addison’s affairwith Derek’s best friend. But the past should be kept in the past, right? Sometimes, the past comes back to haunt those who do wrong. Who knows what the rest of the season has in store for us?

“I think that Addison is pregnant with a little McDreamy,” Rachel Davis, a sophomore biology major, said.

No matter what the new season may bring, there are still many questions that viewers are itching with anticipation to see the outcome. One by one, the sutures will be sewed together as the cast of”Grey’s Anatomy” continue to leave us on edge every week.
